Below is the Eastern Europe portion of my Europe trip last year. Other than renting a car for a day to visit the limestone caves in Slovenia, I travelled by train, bus, taxi, and tour coaches.

Train: Hanover->Munich->Ljubljana->Rakek, arrive at about 8pm, dinner at Furman Guest House

Pick up rental car and visited Skokjan Caves, Predjama Castle and Postojna Cave

Train: 10:19am Rakek->Ljubljana (52 min), sightseeing in Ljubljana, train: 18:35 pm, Ljubljana-Zagreb (2 hr 20 min)

Sightseeing in Zagreb, bus: 4pm, Zagreb-Slunj (slightly under 2 hr)

Bus: 7:30am
Slunj-> Plitvice N.P. (about 40 min), get off at entrance 2 and took course H (about 6 hours), bus: around 4:30pm, Plitvice-Slunj, visited Rastoke

Slunj-> Bihac (via Plitvice N.P.) (about 1 hr 30 min), visit Bihac, bus: 2:30pm, Bihac -> Jajce (slightly under 3 hrs), sightseeing at Jajce

Bus: 10:20am, Jaice->Travnik (about 1.5 hr), sightseeing at Travnik, bus: 3:45pm, Travnik->Sarajevo (about 1.5 hr)

Joined Haris Youth Hostel City tour, 10am-4pm, bus: 6pm, Sarajevo -> Mostar (about 2 hr 20 min)

10:00 Depart HYH Tourist Agency. Visit various sites as detailed below.
15:00 Traditional Bosnian lunch in the Old Town

About the Sarajevo City Tour:

Departure from Mostar, visit Dervish's House in Blagaj, Monastry of Žitomislići, the medieval city of Počitelj, Kravice Waterfalls and lunch, Medugorje, back to Mostar

11:30am, went by taxi from Mostar to Herceg Novi, stopped at Trvdos (about 20 min) and Trebinje (1 hr 10 min) on the way, arrive Kumbor at around 3:30pm, returned to Herceg Novi for sightseeing after hotel check-in
