Just noticed that if you fill 2oz of milk into a NUK / Medela bottle, then pour it into a Pigeon bottle, the reading comes up to 2.5 oz on the Pigeon bottle. Also tries doing the same from NUK to Medela, their measurement are the same! This means the milk volume is always overstated on the Pigeon bottle!
Quite disappointed with Pigeon! I do not expect this happening on a Japanese brand.
Some people may think this is no big deal, but think about it ...when you use the Pigeon bottle to mix formula powder. If you follow the scale on the bottle, the mixture you make actually contains less water content (i.e. more powder) than you think it should be.
Good point Usausagi, but I don't think it is due to the difference between US and UK oz. I tried fill up a Medela / NUK bottle with 100ml of water, then poured it into a Pigeon bottle which gives me a reading of 110m. Tested it with different volumes, the discrepancy is always around 10 - 15 ml (half oz), so I think Pigeon has printed the scale a bit too low towards the bottom of the bottle.
s9900, I used both the yellow and clear plastic ones. You are right!! Scale of the clear one is not accurate. I just tested on the yellow one, the reading is right! ai... that's why the clear and glass ones are cheaper??!!
