Thinking of going to Croatia next summer. Please share your experience. Thanks.
Backpackers and used public transportation.
Dubrovnik is awesome, you should go to islands there too.
Piran, Split, Rovinj, Trogir, Hvar, Sibenik are beautiful
Krka National Park is good too
Plitvice National Park --> must go and I will be back again
Zagreb, Mostar, Bosnia, & Slovenia are also good too.
Thx. Checking the flight right now. It is more expensive next year, may need to give up CX!!
There is no direct flight to Croatia, heard that the most convenient connecting point in Europe is Munich. Is that true?
We have bought the air tickets. Our plan is to stay in Slovenia for 3 nights and then 6 nights in Croatia. Within Croatia, do you think bus is more convenient? For example, from Zagrab to Split and do we need to buy the ticket now?
It seems to me that bus is faster and more convenient in Croatia. I travelled in the middle of summer and I needed not purchase tickets in advance, so I think it should be better in early July.
Hi, how did you go to the accommodation at Dubrovnik ?
My accommodation is within walking distance from the bus terminal or the ferry terminal. It is about 10 minutes on foot. the walled old city is 3 km away to the South, and the airport is over 20 km away. There are frequent bus services going to the old city, and many people prefer staying in the old city.
To the airport a taxi is the most convenient. There are also airport buses going from the bus terminal to the airport.
It is very expensive inside the old city. That's why I stayed 3 km away. I booked through booking.com. The one I booked was about the cheapest I could find, but the quality was good.
Local bus to the old city is frequent. I could stay late in the old city and got a bus back, so the distance wasn't a problem.
