Hi all, we are going to apply family visa for the kids soon, and wonder which bank should we put the money in, coz I've heard that it's not ideal to be in the bank account with mortgage. I have an HSBC account in UK which is a saving account only, anyone know is it ok to have cash saving in GBP in UK bank? Does it have to be in the local HK bank?

I don't think it is a problem. No matter which currency you hold in HK or UK, as long as you can provide the latest 6 months bank statement with sufficient fund should be fine.
